When Should Your Pet See A Chiropractor?

Just like humans, animals can benefit from seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis. And just like humans, our pets often get hurt through play, accidents and training. Yet they don't always let us know when they’ve been hurt and it can be hard to tell if your pet needs some extra attention.

Dogs and cats can even hide how they're feeling because their DNA remembers when they were wild animals and if you showed weakness you could be a target for attack. It's up to us to keep a close eye on them to make sure that they're healthy, happy and living their best life.

But how can you tell when your pet might need a little TLC if they try to hide it?

Pay attention to the way your pet is acting and any changes in behaviuor. It may be subtle but you tend to know your pet better than anyone so will notice when something feels off.

For example:

  • Has the way they walked, sit or stand changed?

  • Do they always prefer to lay or sit on the same side?

  • Do they have trouble going up or down stairs or is there a change in their general activity?

  • Have their eating habits changed?

These are a few of the symptoms and examples of conditions that can be helped with animal chiropractic care.

Adjustments are safe as they use minimal force and gentle pressure. Most dogs and cats, like people, enjoy coming in for an adjustment. Sometimes, when an animal has tense muscles or a particularly sore spot, they may feel some temporary discomfort during treatment. But don’t worry, we have treats to make everything better!
